The purpose of the Strathcona County / City of Fort Saskatchewan Intermunicipal Relations Committee is to enhance the working relationship between the City of Fort Saskatchewan and Strathcona County with respect to issues of common concern and interest. The composition of the Strathcona County / City of Fort Saskatchewan Intermunicipal Relations Committee consists of elected officials, the Chief Commissioner for Strathcona County, the Associate Commissioner Infrastructure Planning Services Division, and the Director of Corporate Planning and Intergovernmental Affairs.

There are four meetings held per calendar year for the Strathcona County / City of Fort Saskatchewan Intermunicipal Relations Committee.
Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings to observe the meeting and discussion carried out by the Strathcona County / City of Fort Saskatchewan Intermunicipal Relations Committee. However, members of the public may only participate in a meeting of and make representations to the Strathcona County / City of Fort Saskatchewan Intermunicipal Relations Committee in accordance with the Boards and Committees Bylaw.
