Prepare for heavy rainfall

Here are a few things you can do to prepare for more rainfall:

  • Check sump pumps

  • Clean eavestroughs and downspouts

  • Clean and exercise your weeping tile flapper

  • Ensure drainage swales (gently rounded ditches along property lines) are clear so water can flow freely

Stormwater system

  • The water level in many stormwater facilities remains high and will take time to recede to normal levels

  • Utilities will continue to monitor and inspect stormwater facilities
