Each year, Strathcona County supports local talent by purchasing artwork through its annual art acquisition program. Artists residing in Strathcona County, and those with a significant connection to the County, are encouraged to submit their artwork for consideration. The application deadline is April 15.

Submissions will be proudly displayed through the Strathcona Contemporary Exhibition at Gallery@501 from April 26 to June 22.

“Art is vital to a community. It expresses our essence, connects us and shapes who we are,” says Kris Miller, acting manager, Cultural Services with Strathcona County. “Strathcona Contemporary is an excellent opportunity for visitors and artists alike to immerse themselves in a diverse array of artistic expressions, sparking inspiration and fostering a collective spirit of creativity within the County.”

Strathcona Contemporary (formerly Strathcona Salon) is a dynamic, two-month celebration of local artists and artisans that features five social events and one amazing exhibition – all of which are free and open to all.
