Plan your trip

    1. Open Google Maps.
    2. Once in Google Maps click the blue arrow in the top left corner.
    3. Select the Transit icon from the top of the menu.
    4. Entering your starting point and destination to find route options.

Please note that Google Maps adjusts stop times in between designated timing points. Please refer to your route's schedule to confirm travel times. If your stop is not a timing point, please be at your stop for the time stated at the previous timing point to ensure you do not miss your bus.

  • Here's an example of how to use the route PDFs to plan your trip.

    1. I need to be at work at Government Centre at 8:30 a.m.
    2. Looking at the commuter schedules, I see that the 413 travels to Government Centre (stop #1301).
    3. It arrives there in the morning at, 7:12, 7:27, 7:42, 7:57, 8:12, 8:27, 8:42, 9:12, and 11:42 a.m.
    4. I need to be at my desk by 8:30, so I'll need to arrive there at 8:12 a.m.
    5. By following across the row where the trip ends at 8:12, I can see that this trip leaves the Terminal at 7:45 a.m.
    6. I live in Lakeland Ridge; nearest stop # 7707, so I need to catch a 433 route bus that will get me to the terminal before 7:45 a.m.
    7. Looking at my timing point (stop #8138), I see that I need to catch my bus at 7:33 a.m. (giving myself 5 minutes cushion as not to miss my local bus) to arrive at the Bethel Transit Terminal for 7:40 a.m. Ample time to get on the 7:45 a.m. Route 413.
    8. My complete trip will take me approximately 50 minutes.

    Helpful hints:
Timing points are indicated in red on your map and correlate to times on the published schedule.

Check the individual route maps to be clear which stops are serviced by your route. For example, Routes 413 and 414 are express routes to their destinations. Only Route 411 stops along 98 Ave.

There are three sets of maps and schedule: Commuter, Local week day and Evening and weekend service maps. Please ensure you look at the correct map for the type of service you will be using.

    If you need assistance, you can call 780-464-RIDE (7433) Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (closed 12:15-1:15 p.m.). We are closed Sundays.

Bus arrival/departure locations at terminals

Your bus will always depart from its designated location at the terminal - this way you always know where to catch it. However, upon arrival at the terminal, buses may occasionally drop you off at a different stop on the platform other than the one you are currently riding. This may position you closer to, or farther from, your desired connection. Have no fear, your connection will not leave without you, our operators do not leave the terminal until the platform is clear of customers.

Why does this happen? in order to increase operational efficiencies, buses are often assigned to more than one route in one day - it's called interlining, and a common practice in the transit industry. Interlining allows for the effective use of buses, as well as providing our operators with a bit of variety in their day.

Stops east of 50 street

While to access these stops you need to ride commuter Route 411, all stops east of 50 street in Edmonton are still considered local Strathcona County stops. Fares to travel to these destinations will be charged accordingly depending on what direction you are travelling. Don't forget to tap-on and tap-off.
