After an extensive search, Mayor Rod Frank, on behalf of Strathcona County Council, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacy Fedechko to the position of Chief Commissioner. Her position is effective March 3, 2025.

This Family Day, February 17, residents can make a difference in the lives of our community members by visiting Strathcona County recreation facilities. One hundred per cent of admissions collected on Family Day will support the Everybody gets to play^TM program in Strathcona County which helps families with limited income access recreation and culture services in our community.

A snow route parking ban will go into effect on Sunday, February 2 at 6 p.m. on all collector roads in Sherwood Park.

To support non-profit organizations in meeting social service needs in Strathcona County, Council has approved 17 grant recipients of the 2025 Social Framework Community Grant program.

Strathcona County’s Council has appointed an Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) following Darrell Reid’s retirement, effective January 31, 2025. 

On Saturday, February 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Family Resource Network (FRN) will host a grand opening for community members to celebrate its new space located at 160 Festival Way, Sherwood Park. This free drop-in event is for families with kids of all ages and will include fun games, giveaways, snacks and more.
