Established in 2014, Strathcona County's quickly growing public art program encompasses over 40 major public art commissions. Public art is integral to the County’s pursuit of a vibrant and healthy place to live, work and visit.

Art collection
The County's art collection consists of hundreds of paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and many other unique mediums. See these artworks installed in public spaces throughout the county, or browse the collection online.

2025 Annual Art Acquisitions Program
The Art Collection Advisory Committee invites artists to submit their artwork for consideration to be purchased. Residents of Strathcona County, artists with a connection to the County, equity seeking artists from Treaty 6, and artists who have been part of a juried exhibition at Gallery@501 or a public art project with Strathcona County are eligible to submit artwork.
Important dates
All applicants must submit their artworks through the online form which will be available February 14, 2025 - May 15, 2025.
Become a member of the Art Collection Advisory Committee
Join the committee that works directly with the County's public and permanent art collection! Some tasks include assisting with the administration of the Strathcona County Annual Art Acquisition Program, including advising on policies and guidelines related to the selection process, juries, placement, maintenance, conservation, de-accession of art works in Strathcona County’s Art Collection, and presenting purchase and loan recommendations to Strathcona County Council.
The Committee meets 6 times a year, the fourth Tuesday of the month, 7-8 p.m. (unless a special meeting or time is required).
