The General Appeals and Review Committee hears and decides appeals filed with it pursuant to Strathcona County Bylaws.  The General Appeals and Review Committee is comprised of citizen members.  Learn more about the General Appeals and Review Committee.

Filing an appeal

To file a notice of appeal with the General Appeals and Review Committee your completed and the filing fee must both be received by the General Appeals and Review Committee no later than the final date for filing a notice of appeal as specified in the applicable Strathcona County Bylaw.  The Notice of Appeal form includes instructions for filing the Notice of Appeal and paying the filing fee.

For appeals related to Strathcona County Bylaw 30-2016 (Vehicle for Hire Bylaw), please refer to sections 44, 45, and 46 within that bylaw. For appeals related to Strathcona County Bylaw 37-2017 (Responsible Dog Ownership Bylaw), please refer to sections 83, 84, and 85 of that bylaw.

After an appeal is filed   

Once an appeal is filed with the General Appeals and Review Committee it will be scheduled for a hearing within 30 days.  At least 5 days' notice of the hearing will be given to those persons specified in Strathcona County Bylaw 46-2021 (109.0 KB)

Appeal Decisions

In Accordance with Strathcona County Bylaw 46-2021 (109.0 KB) , the General Appeals and Review Committee will give its decision in writing within 7 days after concluding the hearing.
