The working schedule for this part-time position is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30am to 4:30pm and will be on site.
Are you a proactive and professional individual with a passion for people and organization? Strathcona County’s Human Resources department is seeking an enthusiastic HR Receptionist to be the welcoming first point of contact at our office.
Reporting to the Director’s Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to HR staff, employees, and the public while ensuring a professional and confidential environment.

Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors, employees, and interview candidates with professionalism and a friendly demeanor
- Assist with coordination of meetings as required
- Review, prioritize and screen incoming correspondence and mail; forward/delegate to staff
- Arrange for courier services as required
- Support administrative functions within department such as facility maintenance requests, filing records, including employee files, labour relation files, Occupational Health and Safety files and Disability Management and Wellness files as required
- Collaborate within a small team to manage employee documentation, including reinstating files for rehires, preparing terminated files for archiving, and ensuring compliance with retention standards. Always uphold strict confidentiality of personnel files and documents. Foster teamwork within the HR department to ensure files are securely stored and easily accessible
- Maintain inventory levels of standard office supplies and add additional supplies to online ordering sites as required
- Assist administrative team, HR leaders and staff with projects, reprioritize as needed to ensure deadlines are met
- Organization of supply storage, storage room, program materials throughout department, work with appropriate branches on what can be archived and what needs to be kept
- Ensure printer paper inventory is maintained throughout the printers, order toner and call for service if required
- Troubleshoot if meeting room equipment issues arise and escalate to appropriate parties
- Assist department staff with equipment set up (ClickShare, Microsoft Teams, etc.) as required
- Ensure cleanliness in meeting rooms after each meeting, assist with finding meeting room for staff if needed
- Assist with SharePoint site maintenance
- Help with administrative tasks as needed to cover the administrative functions of other branches
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of a certificate in Administration or Human Resources from a post-secondary institution, supplemented by a minimum of 2 years related, progressively responsible experience or a High School diploma and 3 years related, progressively responsible experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong customer service
- Ability to be proactive in pointing out efficiencies and learning about the different branches to best support the team
- Ability to recognize and deal with matters of a confidential nature in a discrete and professional manner
- Strong organizational skills and have the ability to work independently and multi-task effectively, with frequent interruptions and requests from a variety of sources
- High degree of confidence in re-establishing/re-prioritizing/adhering to timelines to assist the department in meeting deadlines for some projects
- Able to develop and maintain strong working relationships
