Celebrate Canada’s birthday at Strathcona County’s biggest annual festival. Canada Day in Broadmoor Lake Park (Oak Street, Sherwood Park) features indoor and outdoor activities for all ages and live entertainment.

The Gallery@501 is pleased to present Luxor Urban Art, a documentary photography exhibit of murals painted in protest to the political and cultural uprising in Egypt labeled the “Arab Spring”. 

In recognition of former Councillor Vic Bidzinski’s long-time service to Strathcona County, the public is invited to attend the ceremonial naming of Oak Street to Vic Bidzinski Way. 

The Slab, a popular youth-specific outdoor gathering space, will be soon available for hanging out, messing around and geeking out over the summer months in Strathcona County. The Slab is intended for youth aged 12 to 17.

A presentation to Council on June 18 shared how both Strathcona County and the regional water supplier are preparing to support new Health Canada guidelines on lead exposure and drinking water quality.

As part of its ongoing commitment to foster an environment for safe communities, Strathcona County has launched an RCMP crime map that provides residents with information about reported crimes in Strathcona County.

 

Strathcona County’s festival to celebrate local independent restaurants and food trucks, and artists and artisans returns on Sunday, July 7.

Drivers on Chippewa Road should be prepared to stop at the Kaska Road (east) intersection, as of July 5.

The intersection is changing to a three-way stop to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.

From June 21 to August 4, drivers can expect intermittent major delays at the intersection of Baseline Road and Broadmoor Boulevard.

Residents are invited to join the grand opening celebration for the ArrKann Spray Park and Playground in the Ardrossan Regional Park. This brand new park is located at 80-1 Avenue in Ardrossan, just behind the Ardrossan Recreation Complex.

In a spirit of co-creation with the community, Strathcona County is continuing conversations to explore the possibility of a community wellness hub. A community wellness hub could be a place where residents could easily access social services and programs, as well as a location where service providers could work together in new ways to meet community needs.

Strathcona County is inviting residents, including members of minority or vulnerable populations, to participate in conversations about what diversity and inclusion (D&I) means to them.
