Strathcona County Victim Services accepts advocate applications year-round; however, opportunities are limited. All potential advocates must complete an enhanced security clearance and a vulnerable sector check.

Victim Services Volunteer Advocates

Work together with the RCMP to provide immediate assistance, support, information and agency referral to victims of crime and trauma in Strathcona County and provide support to victims through the criminal justice system.

Please note the process to become a Volunteer Advocate can take up to six months.

Volunteer requirements

  • Must live in Strathcona County

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or have permanent residency

  • Enhanced Criminal Record Check & Child Welfare Check 

  • Valid Driver's License, use of own vehicle 

  • Must be 18 years +

  • Ability to volunteer 3-5 hours a week
