In 2006 Council approved the design project for Range Road 233 from Ash Street to Highway 628. In the ensuing time period, the Sherwood Golf & Country Club Estates (Stage 1) and Balmoral Heights neighbourhoods were developed, and the first roundabout was introduced. Land acquisition has been proceeding along the Range Road 233 corridor.     

The current design work includes safe and efficient intersection treatments—such as road widening and roundabouts at residential subdivisions—as well as a multi-use trail system. Short term improvements will include further road widening and the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Fountain Creek Way and the future Greenside Drive (Stage 2 of Sherwood Golf & Country Club Estates).
