Weekend itineraries: Halloween is on the horizon
We're officially in spooky season
Even though Halloween is a few weeks away, you might want to plan ahead; Spooky Strathma is back for another year! This year’s event is a little different with things taking place around Broadmoor Lake instead of inside the museum. Tickets sold out early last year, so don’t wait to buy yours online. Head over to the Strathcona County Museum and Archives website for more information.
One of Sherwood Park’s popular restaurants, La Patrona, has opened their new fusion and cuisine bar, The Other Place. Their take on Mexican and Canadian food is a great choice this weekend for picking a spot to support local at. Head over to Broadmoor Plaza to check out this new addition to the Sherwood Park restaurant scene.
It’s Thanksgiving this weekend which typically means a turkey dinner is on the horizon for a lot of people. With two places in Sherwood Park operating as meat markets, you can pick up a turkey for dinner and feel good knowing that you are supporting a local business. If you miss out on getting a turkey from Charlie’s or the Butcher Block & Smoke House for this weekend, consider this a head’s up to order one for the upcoming holiday season. 😉
Please ensure that you are adhering to all public health mandates in place, including wearing a mask and physical distancing. Be ready to show your vaccination status, medical exemption or a negative, privately-paid COVID-19 test as part of the Restriction Exemption Program. Be kind and enjoy the weekend in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County!
