Weekend itineraries: let it snow
Stay warm while supporting local
This Sunday is the Ardrossan Winter Farmers’ Market! Head out to the Ardrossan Recreation Complex to browse through locally handmade items, and maybe pick up a few gifts for the upcoming holidays. Whether those gifts are for you or someone else, we support it either way. The Ardrossan Winter Markets are taking place throughout the winter season so make sure to check out their page for the dates if you miss this one.
Shack à Patate opened in Sherwood Park a year and a half ago, don’t tell me you haven’t tried it out yet. This is the perfect weekend to stop by and support a local restaurant while indulging in the Canadian classic of poutine. With hamburgers, hotdogs and even chili cheese fries on the menu, this is the perfect place to warm yourself up after shovelling. Support local when you decide to eat out and stop by Shack à Patate this weekend. Delivery options available if hibernating inside sounds like a better idea.
With the snowfall we had earlier this week, are you a parent who realized their children’s snow clothes don’t fit anymore? Good news, there’s a shop in town that you can get stocked up at, while supporting local! Max & Maude was started by two sisters who grew up in Sherwood Park and they have a range of clothing options. Your kids can look cool in the latest styles while staying warm against the elements. Did we mention that supporting local is a great thing to do with the upcoming holidays?
Please ensure that you are adhering to all public health mandates in place, including wearing a mask and physical distancing. Be ready to show your vaccination status, medical exemption or a negative, privately-paid COVID-19 test as part of the Restriction Exemption Program.
Be kind and enjoy the weekend in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County!
