Weekend itineraries: St Paddy's Day and Spring arriving

The warm weather is finally on its way, so it’s a great time to head out and enjoy some of the natural areas Strathcona County has. The Biodiversity Trail in the Beaver Hills Biosphere is a great place for a walk as it’s only about 2 kilometres long. Did you know that March 19 is the anniversary of Beaver Hills receiving UNESCO designation as a biosphere in 2016? Happy birthday to this pristine natural area!

Exterior of Sherlock Holmes Pub

If you’re trying to decide what to do for St. Paddy’s, head to Sherlock Holmes and celebrate in style. In true Canadian fashion, they will have their patio open (don’t worry, they have heaters) and have entertainment planned for the whole evening, including Irish dancers and a pipe band. You might want to get there early as it likely will be busy. Sláinte!

Floral bouqet from Shig's Flowers

Spring arrives on Monday, and the perfect way to celebrate is by picking up a fresh boutique of flowers from a local florist. Shig’s Flowers is a great option to stop by and browse through their latest modern designs. They have plenty of bouquets to browse through on their website but stop by to take in these beauties (and their gorgeous smells) in person!
