Weekend itineraries: a "fall"-bulous weekend
This weekend in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County
Head out to the Sherwood Park Natural Area just south of Sherwood Park to enjoy some fresh air before cold weather sets in (next week according to the forecast!). This site is 68 hectares in size and has a trail loop that’s just under 3 kilometres long. It’s a great way to enjoy some wildlife and plant life without having to drive too far. Head straight down Clover Bar road out of town and enjoy some time outdoors.
Malina Ukrainian Bakery opened its doors last year – have you tried out their treats yet? They have sweet and savoury options like plushka (soft sugar cookies) pyrizhky (buns with different filling options) and frozen food to take home and enjoy. A cool feature about their location is that they have a window looking in at Sherwood Motorcars, so you can check out the high-end cars as you enjoy your treats. Enjoy them this weekend!
With cooler temperatures on the horizon, you might be looking for a new hobby to take up during the winter months. Head over to Scrap and Bean on Broadview Drive and Broadway Boulevard to browse through their selection. With a huge assortment of scrapbooking supplies, watercolour pencils, and more, you’re sure to fill your spare time with plenty of new projects. Check out their website for a variety of classes, such as Christmas card making.
