Weekend itineraries: another rural weekend
This weekend in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County
This weekend is the Josephburg Agriculture Society Classic, and the celebrations start in the best way: a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning! The cattle show starts at 9:30 at Moyer Rec Centre in Josephburg, and a concession with food lasts the whole day. Check out the obstacle challenge that’s also taking place at the Josephburg Gymkhana Grounds, or add the Fort Saskatchewan 4-H Beef Club Show and Sale to your calendar – it’s taking place on Monday the 27th.
New coffee shop alert! If you were a fan of Morning Brew 192 when it opened in Aspen Plaza, your days of sadness are over. This locally owned coffee shop has reopened in a new location at Hastings Lake Gardens. They have revamped the space to have seating, and their incredible specials are back on the menu. Take a drive out this weekend and welcome them back.
Next time you’re in the rural area, plan to stop by the Grove on Wye. This place is home to Oak and Aspen Soapery and Wood by Taylor. You can stock up on natural bath and body products like soap and shower steamers and order handmade woodwork of art like cutting boards, customizable charcuterie boards, and more. Oak and Aspen Soapery also hold workshops, a great way to spend time with friends or family. Check out their websites and call them to book your appointment time.
