Weekend itineraries: on December's doorstep
This weekend in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County
Christmas in the Heartland is an annual driving tour (unless you got tickets for the bus ride, but the sale is already over) that takes you around rural venues in the northern part of Strathcona County. Each location will be set up as a different aspect of a traditional Christmas with other things to see and do! If you haven’t started your holiday shopping yet, this is a great way to get some unique pieces by local artisans and crafters. Don’t miss the ice carvings, Ukrainian melodies, and more this weekend, thanks to the Josephburg Agricultural Society.
New restaurant alert! La Fabbrica Del Gusto opened its doors in Broadmoor Boulevard last week, and it’s open every day to fill your pasta (and more!) cravings. Their menu spans classic items like baked lasagna and fusion items like curry chicken risotto. They have a lunch menu and offer catering for large gatherings. Stop by and welcome them to the neighbourhood this weekend. The cold weather we’ve had all week makes choosing an Italian feast for dinner an easy choice!
The Maker's Keep Sherwood Park is another great location to pick up a unique item for the season. This collective boutique is stocked with locally made handcrafted items and is a great way to support local artisans during the upcoming holidays. Stopping at their location in Broadmoor Plaza is a great way to enjoy the vibe of a craft market but on your own schedule this season. Stop by and take a look this weekend!
