Weekend itineraries: a cold start to February

It's the Canadian Birkebeiner Society's Birkie this weekend! This is Western Canada’s premier Nordic ski event and is one of three races in the world – right in our backyard! Luckily, the weather is warming up this weekend, so it will be a great time to help cheer on all the athletes competing. If you have registered to compete this weekend - good luck!

𝑃𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑡... Did you know that Elk Island Retreat Ltd. is offering a special trial of their new ÖÖD sauna that coincides with the Birkie? From now until next Saturday, you can book a 2-hour time slot to experience Canada's first mirrored sauna. It's a great way to warm up after the cold snap or to relax muscles after a long day spent skiing.

Inside view of Ardrossan Pizza

Ardrossan Pizza has been open for over a year now; have you checked it out? You might have guessed what they have on the menu based on the name, but they have more than just pizza! Check out their special menu for other options. This restaurant is found right in Ardrossan, meaning it’s a great place to add while out cheering on the Birkie participants.

Clothing for sale at Unboutiqued

Valentine’s Day is next weekend: are you ready for it? Luckily, UnBoutiqued is having their winter sale on most of their items, so this is the perfect time to pick up a new outfit. Don’t wait, though; it’s only on until the end of the month! Stop by their rural location before or after enjoying the pizza place just down the road.
