Across the Board is a FREE workshop series that supports non-profits in Strathcona County to build strong, effective boards. This series is a collaboration with The Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (ECVO).Â
Across the Board runs its workshop series each year. If you have attended workshops in previous years, the content will be similar.

Non-profit Facilitator Training: Crafting Your Mission, Vision, and Values
This interactive beginner workshop will provide participants with an understanding of good mission, vision, and values, an overview of the facilitation process, training on how to facilitate the activities, and supply you with resources and tools to facilitate for your own organization.

Bylaws Lab: Freshen Your Bylaws and Make Them Future-ready
Learn the latest best practices and get help from the experts to make your bylaws fresh and future-ready in an evolving non-profit sector. Participants will leave with updated bylaws and the knowledge to make and update future bylaws. Two to three members from your organization must attend.Â

Alberta Board Member Essentials
Designed to support the growth of new and developing board members, the Alberta Board Member Essentials (ABME) program was built for new and experienced board members. Alberta Board Member Essentials is a multi-part training program that combines online learning with live workshops to give new and developing board members the tools to successfully serve on a non-profit board.
There are a limited number of scholarships available for Strathcona County board members to attend. If your are interested, email familyandcommunity@strathcona.ca or call 780-464-4044 to learn more.
