Listen to Breathing is My Superpower by Alicia Ortego and practice your breathing.
- Breathing games
Tissue or feather game: Place a small piece of tissue or feather on the palm of your hand. Breathing in through your nose and breath out through your mouth. The goal of the game is to breathe without blowing away the tissue or feather.
Milk shake breathing: Grab a straw. Fill a cup with 1/3 of water. Breath in deeply through your nose and breathe out slowly through the straw. Encourage them to blow small bubbles in the cup very gently.
- Building tools
Together draw out different activities your child and you can do to shrink a hard to have feeling and be calm. Place it somewhere in your home to help remind everyone when they feel upset.
