6.6  Bed and breakfast

6.6(1)

A bed and breakfast shall not create a nuisance that is uncharacteristic for the purpose of the zoning of the lot on which it is operated.

6.6(2)

In the Urban Service Area, a bed and breakfast shall only be located within the principal dwelling, the exterior appearance of which shall continue to be that of a single dwelling.

6.6(3)

Where located in the Rural Service Area (excluding hamlets), sleeping units may be located within an accessory building provided that, in the opinion of the development authority, the accessory building is of unique architectural or historical significance in the area.

6.6(4)

A bed and breakfast shall employ no more than one non-resident on-site employee.

6.6(5)

A bed and breakfast shall not be approved on a lot where a development permit has been approved for the following:

  1. (a) agricultural dwelling;
  2. (b) care centre;
  3. (c) deleted (Bylaw 45-2024)
  4. (d) group home;
  5. (e) home business major;
  6. (f) secondary suite; or
  7. (g) temporary care dwelling.
