6.11 Home business
Home business minor, home business intermediate and home business major shall:
- (a) not be located within an agricultural dwelling, temporary care dwelling, secondary suite, garden suite or group home;
- (b) not create nuisance that is uncharacteristic for the nature and use of the surrounding area;
- (c) limit the number of vehicle visits in accordance with the regulations of this bylaw, where a vehicle visit is considered to be the arrival of a single client, customer or delivery vehicle at the location of a home business;
- (d) except for emergency situations, limit vehicle visits to:
- (i) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays;
- (ii) between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sundays and statutory holidays; and
- (e) accommodate all parking associated with the home business on-site except for an occasional gathering such as a recital, instruction demonstration, meeting, or similar event.
Despite anything else in this bylaw, a development permit for a home business is immediately considered to be cancelled in the event the operator of the home business no longer resides in that dwelling.
The development authority must not issue a development permit for a home business if the development authority is of the opinion that the home business would be more appropriately located in a commercial district or an industrial district when considering the overall compatibility of the home business with the residential character of the area.
Home business minor
A home business minor must comply with Table 6.11(A):

Home business intermediate

Home business major
A home business major must comply with Table 6.11(C):

Despite the regulations in Table 6.11(C) above, no more than one heavy home business vehicle shall be allowed where access to the lot with the home business major is from an internal subdivision road.
Despite the regulations in Table 6.11(C) above, on lots equal to or greater than 4.0 hectares, exterior storage may be considered provided the storage area:
- (a) is located in accordance with the minimum setback requirements for accessory buildings in the applicable zone;
- (b) does not exceed 400 m2 in area; and
- (c) is screened from residences on adjacent lots and a road(s) to the satisfaction of the development officer.
