Recruitment information day

This is your chance to get up close with firefighter/paramedics, recruiters, equipment and experience some of the physical activities you will be required to do during the physical exam.
Each session is approximately 60 minutes and includes:

a presentation where you learn about the process, the department and have the opportunity to ask questionsÂ

various stations will be set up putting participants through different physical activities in bunker gear.

Participants are asked to wear workout attire and bring boots (steel toed are preferred) and gloves.

You must be over 18 years of age to participate in physical activities.Â

EMS station with SIMs and you can ask questions about the medical knowledge and scenario testing.Â

various info booths on our specialty teams and wellness programs.Â

a tour of Fire Station 6.Â
This event is for those who are serious about a career with Strathcona County Emergency Services. Participants should be currently enrolled or planning to be enrolled in a paramedic or EMT program.

Ride along program
This program is available to those that are paramedics or are currently enrolled in a paramedic or EMR program. Complete the Ride Along Observer Program form (82.2 KB) , scan and email it to Community Safety.Â
Please allow up to three weeks for your application to be processed.
