Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Vehicle Serviceperson II to join our team in the Fleet and Facility Management department. 


The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing light and heavy equipment repairs, preventative maintenance tasks, as well as boosting and refuelling tasks on various types of vehicles and equipment both out in the field as well as in the shop. 


Responsibilities:


  • Perform preventative maintenance, service and light and heavy equipment repair work on all vehicles and equipment used within Strathcona County
  • Communicate, plan and deliver required field refuelling and servicing needs to all user divisions according to crew schedules, while maintaining a superior level of customer service
  • Operate and maintain a tandem axle field refuelling/service unit and document a daily log of fuel usage as per legislated requirements 
  • Perform 12 & 24 volt boosting and winching requirements
  • Capable of working independently and with limited immediate supervision 
  • Submit detailed documentation upon completion of vehicle and equipment repairs 
  • Complete all assigned work within assigned time standards 


Qualifications and Skills


  • Extensive related work experience along with formal courses at the high school level or post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of progressive experience and education
  • Experience working on various types of on-road and off-road equipment is an asset
  • Basic computer experience 
  • Knowledge and experience working on various types of on-road and off-road equipment and related equipment repair practices, procedures and preventative maintenance requirements 
  • Ability to perform to written or oral instructions 


Conditions of Employment


  • Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check 
  • Valid Alberta Class 3 Driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits  
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties and lift moderately heavy objects
