This posting is for 1 temporary full-time position up to 9 months
The Customer and Information Services Representative provides exceptional customer service and administrative support at the front desk of the Planning and Development Services Department. The role involves responding to inquiries from County residents, developers, consultants, and lawyers, ensuring that requests are addressed promptly and accurately, and forwarded for appropriate action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide reception and customer services by responding to enquiries from County residents, developers, consultants and lawyers, and forward appropriately for prompt service
- Balance and reconcile receipts, credit card or cash transactions each morning prior to opening the branch
- Receive and process payments for department applications
- Provide information and assistance on permit application requirements for planning, development and building processes and fees, and ensure customers receive required information prior to submission of the application
- Provide administrative support to the branch
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years recent and related customer service experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration or related field is an asset
- Related customer service experience in a municipal or planning and development environment is an asset
- Excellent public relations, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- General knowledge of the operational practices and procedures of municipal government
- Ability to maintain discretion and respect confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with current knowledge of computer and software applications
- Knowledge of Oracle and POSSE software is an asset
