Job Description
This posting is for one hourly position from May – August 2025
Reporting to the Manager, Governance Services, this position will support important Governance functions at Strathcona County. The position will assist with coordinating tribunals, support recruitment for boards and committees and assist with 2025 municipal election preparations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Assessment Review Board hearings, compile and organize agenda packages
- Distribute appeal documents, maintaining accurate and timely records
- Administer the recruitment portal for public member recruitment to boards and committees, tracking applications and scheduling interviews
- Coordinate with different departments to maintain up-to-date information on various boards and committees
- Respond to inquiries and providing guidance on the recruitment process to the public
- Develop and distribute recruitment materials, including agenda packages for the Governance Advisory Committee to conduct interviews
- Audit and remove outdated or duplicate files in SharePoint, ensuring compliance
- Implement consistent naming conventions and folder structures
- Assist in other records management activities as required
- Work with the Legislative Services branch to help with 2025 municipal election preparations
- Support 2025 election activities including project planning and event planning and coordination
Qualifications and Skills:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in political science, law or related field
- Administrative experience and event planning experience are considered assets
- Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with residents and other staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
