Ardrossan is a growing community of over 514 people. In 2008, Ardrossan celebrated its 100th Anniversary. Located about four kilometres south of the Yellowhead Highway (Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway 16) along the Pointe Aux Pins Creek, Ardrossan can be accessed on Secondary Highway 824, south of Highway 16, or north from Baseline or Wye Road.
The facilities in the hamlet include a public school complex for students from kindergarten to senior high, a separate school for students from kindergarten to junior high, and New Horizons School - a charter school for gifted students from kindergarten to junior high. The junior/senior high school also houses the Ardrossan Community Theatre. The sports fields surrounding the schools were recently redeveloped with new baseball diamonds, soccer fields, football fields and a tennis court.
The hamlet is also home to the newly revitalized, state-of-the-art Ardrossan Recreation Complex .. This complex includes a twin arena, a multi-purpose hall, curling rink, an indoor fitness track, wellness centre and a children's playground. The new spaces have created many new exciting drop-in fun and fitness opportunities to meet the needs of this growing community. The Ardrossan Recreation Complex is a welcome neighbourhood gathering place. The community is very active in both sports and cultural activities. Residents and visitors can enjoy annual events such as the Annual Lobster Dinner and Dance as well as the Community Parade and Picnic. Amenities such as a general store, garage, fire hall, and post office are a few more reasons why Ardrossan scores high as a great place to call home.
