Robert Parks was elected to his first term as Strathcona County Councillor for Ward 1 on October 16, 2017.

Robert was born and raised in Sherwood Park, growing up in Mills Haven. Robert graduated from Salisbury Composite High School and earned a Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and Simon Fraser University.

Robert worked in the financial services industry for almost a decade, starting in the branch network as a Financial Advisor, and later as a Branch Manager and then in Agricultural Lending Practices. After leaving the bank, Robert worked extensively with small, medium and large organizations in assisting them build their footprint and grow their business.

Robert believes that integrity, ingenuity and hard work will lead to success for Strathcona County and will offer that, along with new ideas to Council

Robert is actively involved with the United Way’s Tools for School Program and believes that all children deserve an equal opportunity to achieve their version of success.

Robert has a Jack-Russel/Schnauzer mix named Sid who keeps him on his toes. Robert’s hobbies include golf in the summer and five-pin bowling in the winter.
