Great news for the 2026 Alberta Summer Games! Strathcona County 2026 Alberta Summer Games Society secured $75,000 in grant funding from the Alberta government Community Initiatives Program.

On February 20, the 2026 Alberta Summer Games Society board chair, John Dance, was joined by MLA Nate Glubish, Mayor Rod Frank and Councillor Corey Ann Hartwick to celebrate the success of receiving this funding.

Funds from this grant will support food services for about 2,500 athletes, coaches and officials during the Games.

“The Alberta Summer Games is a great opportunity to showcase our community and support the next generation of athletes,” says Mayor Rod Frank. “This funding strengthens the work behind the Games and will help deliver an exceptional experience for every participant. Thank you to the Government of Alberta and the Games Society for their ongoing efforts.”
