Be a part of something big by volunteering for the 2026 Alberta Summer Games

Strathcona County is looking forward to hosting over 2,500 participants during the 2026 Alberta Summer Games (ASG) from July 16 – 19. Athletes ages 11 to 16 from across Alberta will compete in a variety of individual and team sports, alongside the nearly 1,500 volunteers needed to make the Games unforgettable for the young competitors.

Volunteers are a big part of what makes a sporting event as large as the ASG possible. There are many opportunities to get involved, including assisting with the opening ceremonies, scorekeeping, monitoring access and admission, first aid and much more!

Volunteers will receive exclusive perks, including a branded shirt, snacks and beverages, free spectator access (excluding opening ceremonies) and the feeling of being a part of a provincial celebration of sport and community.

Most volunteer shifts are two to four hours long and are open to teens aged 13 to 15 with an accompanying adult, or 16+ independently. Bring a friend and enjoy volunteering together across multiple shifts with flexible hours.

In preparation for the Games, volunteers will take part in a one-hour online or in-person training session during the first two weeks of July.
