On November 6, 2012, Strathcona County Council formally approved this plan that guides the long term planning, design and development of all public recreation spaces and facilities in Josephburg.
Project History
A community visioning session was hosted in Josephburg on February 27, 2012. Approximately fifty members of the community participated in a facilitated session describing the future of recreation in Josephburg.
A draft of the Community Recreation Master Plan was shared with the public during Josephburg's annual Chicken Supper on June 13, 2012. At that time, feedback was gathered on the draft plan.
To ensure the Hamlet's feedback was captured, a Hamlet wide mail-out went out to residents during the week of June 25, 2012. The information package included the draft Community Recreation Master Plan and a survey.
The final recommendations of the Josephburg Community Recreation Master Plan are based on four themes:
1. Trails
2. Sports
3. Speciality Areas
4. Community Gathering
Each theme includes a number of action items and associated costing to help Strathcona County guide future investment in the hamlet.
The plan's timeframe: 2013 - 2023. Funding for the various proposed elements is determined through the annual budget process or through a Community Partnership Project.Â
