Is your house number clearly posted?
When called, emergency responders need to be able to find your house without delay. Minutes count in an emergency. Strathcona County's Addressing Bylaw 33-91 requires that addresses be posted clearly in front of each residence.
Home owners must ensure:
- sign letters and numbers are at least 76 mm high (3")
- signs are placed next to the driveway at the property line, OR
- on the mail box or paper delivery box
- tree branches are pruned back from the number
It is not necessary to post your name, only your address. Use contrasting colours on the sign for higher readability.
