North Central All-hazards Incident Management Team (NC AHIMT) training is a provincially-funded initiative designed to create personnel depth and support for municipal staff working in an Incident Command Post (ICP).

Training

The NC AHIMT hosts several different training sessions throughout the year. Please note the prerequisites in order to attend.

Block 1 training

April 30-May 1, 2024 (2 days):  Open to any municipal employee covering an ICS refresher, Unit Leader roles and responsibilities, the Planning P process and ICS forms. 

It is a mixture of lectures (Day 1) and hands-on problem solving using the Planning P and ICS forms (Day 2). 

Location: Strathcona County Hall / Community Centre; 2001 Sherwood Drive, Sherwood Park

September 18-19, 2024 (2 days): Must be a member of an AHIMT to attend. Focused on Section Level exercises. Initially a mentored walk-through of an exercise problem, followed by a full exercise test.

Location: Spruce Grove Protective Services Building, 36 - 5th Avenue, Spruce Grove AB T7X 2C4

Block 3 training

Not being delivered in 2024 by NC AHIMT (3 days):  Must be a member of an AHIMT to attend. Focused on IMT Exercises. Initially a one-day mentored walk through of an exercise problem, followed by a full IMT exercise test. 

Functional exercise

November 4-5, 2024 (2 days): Must be a member of an AHIMT to attend.
