Station #6 is headquarters for Strathcona County Emergency Services. Public access is by appointment only. The public entrance to the building is on the the west side of the building, behind the Dalmatian statue. Administration hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Facts about Station 6
- in addition to being fully operational, this station serves as a training facility for firefighters
- training/hose tower (4.5 stories and a basement) for training purposes
- deluge/decontamination shower (with collection system)
- secured evidence room for fire investigations
- dedicated space for public safety training, including first aid and CPR classes
- building design that complements neighbouring architecture, while still capturing traditional aspects of a fire station appearance
- crews took their first dispatched call at noon on May 15, 2013
- just over half of the funding for the building came from the Alberta government's Municipal Sustainability Initiative grant
- certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver standard certification. This program, administered by the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) rates design, construction and operation of high performance "green" buildings to ensure they meet the prescribed minimum certification standards.
