Strathcona County is conducting a functional planning study in its southwest area. The study will determine what upgrades will be required over the next 30 years to support future traffic volumes.  
 

Strathcona County is inviting community leaders, innovators and change agents from across Alberta to attend its first Social Summit, themed From Isolation to Connection, where participants will explore how to inspire a community-authored approach for building connections and overall feelings of inclusion.

Strathcona County is joining parents, caregivers, teachers, and school staff across the County to help support students returning to school on September 3, 2019.

In 2019, Strathcona County awarded a total of 133 grants to residents leading initiatives that promote a supported, safe and connected community. These grants were awarded through two streams, Community Change Grants and Community Connection Grants, and are guided by the Social Framework’s outcomes of affordability, access to programs and services, safety and connectedness and inclusion.

Farmers in Strathcona and Lamont County are invited to take part in a free, farm vehicle safety check at the Farm Safety Day on Friday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., outside of the Moyer Recreation Centre in Josephburg (#4-54569 Range Road 215).

Strathcona County is looking for input from South Cooking Lake and area residents on the benefits of a residential water fill station for the hamlet and surrounding community.

Starting this week, residents can expect delays and detours as road improvements, sidewalk repairs and the implementation of traffic calming features will be underway in Glen Allan.
