Give your old shoes new life!

 

 

Waste Reduction Week is October 16 to 22, 2017 and to celebrate we are hosting the 2nd annual Waste Reduction Week shoe drive!

 

With help from our sponsor, Waste Connections of Canada, students across Strathcona County are asked to bring in shoes that are tied together of any make, size, brand or condition to school for a chance to win some exciting prizes. 

Shoes are a difficult item to recycle and are usually sent to the landfill - until now!

With this shoe drive our community will benefit directly as we re-home some shoes locally that are in excellent condition. The remaining shoes will be sent to Soles4Souls, a not for profit group in Ontario that helps developing countries build their economies while diverting waste from the landfill at the same time.
