The Emerald Hills Regional Park is a 27-acre park site in Sherwood Park and is home to many exciting recreational amenities including a grass sports field, two baseball fields, and an artificial turf within the Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion. The site is situated between Emerald Drive and Amberley Way, and is also the home of Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School and the Emerald Hills Leisure Centre.
Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion
The artificial turf field, which is FIFA II certified, is available for booking by groups including soccer, football, rugby, field hockey and any other sport user interested in reserving the site. The Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion features four full-sized change rooms and washrooms, a multi-purpose room and a concession area.
Hours of operation
The Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion is not available for drop-in use and must be reserved in advance by calling 780-467-2211. After hours support from April 1 to November 30 is available by calling 780-893-5813.
Winter amenities
In the winter, a skating pathway is featured with a snow-banked rink and heated change facilities. The heated change facilities are supervised from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
Fun fact: In 2017, 235 trees and 143 shrubs were planted in the park to reduce air pollution, and provide shade and wildlife habitat.
