A permit is required when equipment, bins, trucks or materials are left on roads or sidewalks temporarily.
Temporary roadway encroachment permits are required for:Â
- Food trucksÂ
- Garbage binsÂ
- Landscaping materials such as piles of dirt, sod, or other materialsÂ
- Pod containersÂ
Food truck requirementsÂ
To qualify for a permit for temporary food truck parking, please ensure the following requirements are met:Â
- A safe parking lane is availableÂ
- The service window must face the sidewalk and traffic cones/delineators placed around the truck.Â
Parking is not permitted:Â
- Within 10 m of a crosswalkÂ
- On arterial or major collector roadwayÂ
- OvernightÂ
Food trucks are restricted at the following locations:Â
- Oak StreetÂ
- Centre in the ParkÂ
- Centennial ParkÂ
- Fir StreetÂ
Food trucks also require a business fire inspection.Â
