Older adults survey open for resident input

Take the survey now

Strathcona County’s Healthy Aging project is open for residents to share their input on the needs and priorities of older adults 55+ to help shape the future of healthy aging in Strathcona County. The survey is open until May 10 to all residents.

“We are excited to launch the survey and hear from our entire community,” says Mayor Rod Frank. “Community members are encouraged to complete the survey and share their opinions about what healthy aging looks like in the County.”

The survey is the first phase of three engagement phases that will develop the vision of healthy aging in Strathcona County and inform recommendations to Council. Information and themes gathered in phase one will guide focused community conversations in phase two. In phase three, project findings will be shared with the community, and a report and recommendations for next steps will be presented to Council in November 2024.

“Strathcona County recognizes there is a growing demand for supports for older adults as they age,” says Mayor Frank. “Council has heard from community groups, and capturing the input of our residents will augment existing feedback to produce informed recommendations that reflect the needs and priorities of our current and future older adult population.”

The survey is available online to all residents. Advanis, an independent public opinion research company, is conducting the survey over the phone on the County’s behalf until May 10. Residents will be randomly selected, and participation is voluntary.

Residents can complete the survey, learn more about the project and sign up for updates at strathcona.ca/HealthyAging.

Residents who would like to participate and need support filling out the survey can phone 780-410-6595 or email engagement@strathcona.ca.
