On June 26, 2022, the On-Demand Transit pilot will launch in Sherwood Park. This new service will replace the current local hourly evening and weekend service. 

Children and youth will have greater access to spray park activities with a new all-terrain, accessible water wheelchair.

Strathcona County is inviting the public to the first in-person open house for the NEW regional park on Monday, June 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The open house will be held in the Community Centre Agora, 401 Festival Lane, Sherwood Park.

Strathcona County’s largest annual festival returns in-person! This year’s Canada Day celebration at Broadmoor Lake Park (Oak Street, Sherwood Park) features indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, as well as live entertainment throughout the day.

Summer fun continues in Strathcona County with the introduction of a new pilot disc golf course in Sherwood Park, as well as the continuation of permitting responsible alcohol consumption at designated picnic sites.

Strathcona County is inviting the community to provide feedback on a draft bylaw that establishes standards of presentation and accountability in the County.

During the Pride month of June, Strathcona County joins in recognizing and amplifying the contributions and diversity of 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Emerald Hills Leisure Centre will be closed June 28 - August 5 to install a new system to address water leaks in the kids’ pool. The repairs are scheduled to be completed prior to fall swim lesson registration on August 23.

County honours seniors with week of celebratory events 

A panel of municipal staff and community members recently selected the Westend Seniors Activity Centre as Strathcona County’s new partner in providing improved services to older adults.
