Strathcona County's Smeltzer House turns 100!

Built in 1920, Smeltzer House stands as a charming reminder of the early days of settlement in Strathcona County. As 2020 marks the 100 anniversary of this historic house, the County is marking this milestone with the Smeltzer House Centennial Celebration.

Residential street snow removal begins Tuesday, January 28

County crews will start removing snow on residential streets starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28. 

Residents are asked to watch for large orange signs that state “Residential Street Snow Removal in Progress” that include dates for snow clearing in the area when parking is not permitted.

Planning underway for new skateboard park in Ardrossan

On Wednesday, January 29, the public is invited to attend a design workshop for the new skateboard park in Ardrossan, planned for the green space adjacent to Memorial Hall. The workshop will be held in the Aspen Room at Ardrossan Recreation Complex (80-1 Avenue, Ardrossan), from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Snow route parking ban effective Wednesday, January 22

A snow route parking ban will go into effect on Wednesday, January 22 at 7 a.m. on all collector roads in Sherwood Park.

On Monday, January 6, 2020, the Highway 14 Regional Water Services Commission is planning to shut down a portion of its water supply to repair a water break.

Gallery@501 exhibit provides insight into Hutterite societies

Gallery@501 is pleased to present In The World But Not Of It by Canadian artist, Tim Smith. The exhibit opens January 10 and is on display until February 23, 2020. Celebrate at Strathcona County’s 2020 New Year’s Festival

Ring in 2020 with free, family-friendly festivities on Tuesday, December 31 starting at 4 p.m. and concluding with fireworks at 8 p.m. The fun will take place at Broadmoor Lake Park and include activities at Festival Place, the Community Centre, and the Sherwood Park Arena and Sports Centre.

Parkade incident review outlines County’s emergency response strengths and areas for improvement
