Kick-off the holiday season with the County’s annual Celebration of Lights

On Saturday, November 18, the community is invited to help kick-off Strathcona County’s holiday season with the annual Celebration of Lights winter wonderland festivities at Festival Place.

Enjoy an array of free festivities from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., including wagon rides with Santa! Other activities include campfire cooking, holiday crafts, writing letters to Santa and cookie decorating kits. Then, at 5 p.m., the countdown begins, and the magic of the season will come alive with the lighting of the community Christmas lights and LED tree.

Festival Way will be closed at Brentwood Boulevard north from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is available at the Sherwood Park Arena and Sports Centre, and the Community Centre and Centre in the Park parkades.

Volunteers are still needed for crafts, wagon rides, cookie decorating and more. Contact volunteer@strathcona.ca or 780-467-2211 to volunteer.

Please share the holiday spirit by bringing a donation for the Strathcona Food Bank. Dress for the weather as most activities will take place outside.
