Council approves 2024 budget

On December 4, 2023, Strathcona County Council approved a 5.87 per cent tax revenue requirement for the 2024 budget, including a 2 per cent recreation levy. The average tax increase for a property valued at $448K in 2024 will be approximately $117 annually, or $9.75 per month.

Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, no matter their age or fitness level. Approximately 35,000 cardiac arrests occur in Canada each year, and less than 10 per cent of victims survive. Strathcona County wants to change that.

Proposed budget maintains services and adds new amenities

On November 15, Strathcona County Administration presented Council with a proposed 2024-26 budget which includes a 4.69 per cent property tax increase for 2024 to maintain high service levels and add in new amenities such as the Pointe, a new fire hall and additional emergency services staff to meet the community’s needs.
